Latest update
The second LUCCI Annual Meeting took place March 17-18, 2010, at Bäckaskog castle in Scania. (Same venue as in 2009!) The aim of the meeting was to bring together LUCCI members to keep ourselves updated with the progress within the project and to discuss future collaboration among the different Work Packages. In addition, it was the first time we were joined by our newly appointed Advisory Board. All in all, about 40 LUCCI-ists were able to participate in the event.
On the first day, a number of oral presentations were given by representatives from all the LUCCI work packages. This was followed by a lively poster session during which the about 15 contributions were enthusiastically dicussed. The day was rounded off with a social event, a very nice dinner, and continued informal discussions.
Day two started with comments and reflections from the Advisory Board members. A group session followed, with the aim of identifying new possibilities to combine the diverse knowledge and expertise existing within the environment, as well as novel ways to promote integration between LUCCI members.
Both the meeting program and the list of participants are available for download, as are a large number of the presentations.
On February 9, 2010, the one-day seminar "Thinking outside the Box - utilization of your research" took place at the Lund University main building. The workshop, which was arranged jointly with Lund University Innovation, was attended by about 20 LUCCI members, who got to listen to a number of interesting presentations, as well as take part in a stimulating innovation exercise!
LU Innovation is a part of the Lund University Technology Transfer Office, which assists researchers to commercialize research results. They can provide expertise for free within business development, patent right, business law and financing, to any LU researchers that have a business idea.
The first annual LUCCI meeting was recently held at Bäckaskog castle in Northeastern Scania. During two days (March 17-18, 2009), more than 40 LUCCI scientists listened to presentations, perused posters and participated in discussion groups. There were three main aims of the meeting: 1) to learn more about what especially the young LUCCI scientists are working on; 2) to discuss cooperation between existing projects under the various work packages as well as ideas for new projects; and 3) to offer an opportunity for the very diverse group of people that make up LUCCI to get to know each other in an informal setting. For your convenience, we have made the oral and poster presentations available on the meeting program page.
On December 4, 2008, the LUCCI kick-off meeting took place in Lund at the GeoBiosphere Science Centre. The get-together was attended by more than 40 researchers, post-docs and graduate students, who all got a chance to meet and interact. After an introduction by professor Anders Lindroth, the LUCCI coordinator, the leaders of the 5 work packages presented their plans for the next 1-2 years. You can view the meeting programme here.
